Week9

 MICROSOFT EXCEL

Microsoft Excel was the topic that I have learnt this week. The display of it is quite different from Microsoft word and Microsoft PowerPoint; there are many columns, rows and cell which we can change height and width. I have learnt how to insert and also delete rows and columns.

Microsoft excel is able to calculate, analyze, and organize data. Thus, you can also create formula using the point and click method.

The first thing that you have to know is that all formula entries start with an equal sign (=). For simple formulas, you type the equal sign followed by the numeric values that you want to calculate and the math operators that you want to use — for example the plus sign (+) to add, the minus sign (-) to subtract, the asterisk (*) to multiply, and the forward slash (/) to divide the values that you enter. When you press ENTER, Excel instantly calculates and displays the result of the formula.

Especially, you can also graph a chart using Microsoft excel.

In Excel 2010 you can create your own tab in which you can include favorite buttons, so you do not have to go through the different ribbon features like the screen shot below

One of most common task in Excel is creating charts, now in Excel 2010 sparklines feature has been added, which allows you to create the mini charts that fits in a single cell. Through this you can change the chart type and style as per your preferences.

In my opinion, Microsoft excel is quite difficult than other program. That is because I have never used it before. Thus, everything is quite unfamiliar with me. Therefore, I am trying to learnt and practice more and more.
